Albina Onay graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Fine Arts Department in 2022 and practiced printmaking and lithography at university.

What interests me the most is the difference between reality and memory. The phenomenon of combining different experiences is the illusion of memory. I’m interested in putting a lot of things in memory that happened or could have happened. In my work, I try to reveal the personal sense of time and space that connects the past to the present. I like to observe the ability of events to flow and transform from ordinary history into a literary narrative with branched meanings and random contextual shifts. To do this, I combine my interest in the concepts of time, memory, the subconscious with the past and personal perception of the present and explore these ideas through the texture.

Rich creative analysis arising from the interaction of opposites and contradictions is my motivation.
