Gülcan Şenyuvalı pratiğinde ikincil olarak nitelendirilen tükenmez kalem, sim, iğne, iplik ve kumaş gibi malzemelerle resimler ve düzenlemeler yapmaktadır. Şenyuvalı üretim sürecinde, el dikişi ile resimleştirdiği, ona prova imkânı sunan ve özgür bir alan yaratan kolaj tekniğini kullanır. Çalışmalarını istedikleri değil de daha çok istemedikleri üzerinden oluşturur. Sanatsal pratiğinin kavramsal çerçevesi ise zayıf ve farklı olanın trajedisi üzerinden “kadın oluş” meselesi ile ilgilidir. Sanatçı üretimlerini, toplumsal ve kültürel açıdan cinsiyete dayalı kurulmaya çalışılan kimlik tasvirleri olarak tanımlar.
 

Gülcan Şenyuvalı paints and arranges with materials such as ballpoint pen, glitter, needle, thread and fabric in her practice, which the materials are considered secondary. In the production process, Şenyuvalı uses the collage technique, which she illustrates with hand stitching, giving her the opportunity to rehearse and create a free space. She creates her works based on what she does not want rather than what she wants. The conceptual framework of her artistic practice, on the other hand, is about the issue of "being a woman" through the tragedy of the weak and different. The artist defines her productions as depictions of identity that are tried to be established based on gender in social and cultural terms.
