Ecem Yerman was born in Istanbul in 1993. In 2011, she began her undergraduate studies in the Department of Sculpture at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. She graduated in 2016 and, in the same year, started her master's degree in the Department of Sculpture at the same institution.

 

In 2019, she completed her master's degree with a thesis titled “The Representation of Women in Sculpture Through Examples from Feminist Art.” Between 2019 and 2022, she worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Visual Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts at Işık University.

 

In 2024, she completed her Proficiency in Art degree with a dissertation titled “An Examination of the Body as an Ideological Means of Expression in Contemporary Art.” She currently continues her artistic practice in her studio in Istanbul.
